>>Lady GaGa & Beyonce’s “Telephone” Controversy<<

Media outlets are ablaze about Lady GaGa’s newest music video for “Telephone”, saying that the video is “poisoning the minds of children”. The selective-minded FOX NEWS honered the video with a segment, including comments from a mother who says she won’t allow her kids to buy any of Lady GaGa or Beyonce’s CD’s.

There are so many things wrong with the backlash this video is getting. First off, I don’t think people really understand the messages behind the visuals. GaGa herself told Carson Daly that one of the messages is during the diner scene when Gaga and Beyonce poison everyone. GaGa said that she was trying to show that we need to purge ourselves from the stuff the media feeds us. It’s kind of ironic how that’s the message that GaGa was trying to convey, and that is exactly what Fox News is doing. They are feeding America all this crap about the video having “Twisted sexual fantasies” and ignoring the great things about the video.

Can someone please explain to me what is so bad about the video? Should the video be banned because Beyonce feeds GaGa a HoneyBun? Or is it because they poison everyone in the diner? And I’m not sure what Fox New’s meant by “twisted sexual fantasies”. I don’t see anything related to sexual fantasies in the video. Maybe it’s because GaGa makes out with a women in the video? So now showing people kissing should be banned from television? Maybe the video should be banned because GaGa grabs a girls crotch at one point. Well if that’s the case, then every Michael Jackson video should be banned.

The point is, all this controversy the video is getting just shows how close-minded and prejudice america still is. I’m sure that if it was a man GaGa was kissing in the Excerise Yard, no one would have a problem with it. I’m also sure that all the “parents” who are worried about their children being poisened by the video have taken their kids to watch The Dark Knight, which has more violence then The War in Iraq. People need to learn that it’s 2010, and kid’s are exposed to more then they were in the past. If this video showed people having sex, showed an actual penis and vagina (GaGa’s was blurred out), and included a person being shot to death, then maybe it should be banned. But this video isn’t as bad as people make it out to be; it’s ART.

P.S. – MTV didn’t ban the video, and I’m sure FOX NEWS knew that before, but still went ahead and said it.
