Augustana, known most for their song Boston, is probably one of my favorite bands of all time. Ever since there lat album in 2008, I’ve been impatiently waiting for the next one. After two full years of waiting, the band has finally released a message on their MySpace about when we can expect the new album.

dear patient people in america and beyond

dear (patient) people,

we just wanted to let you know that we are still at work finishing the new record.  as of right now we have about 17 or 18 songs and we’re trying to widdle it down so we have the best 11 or 12.  we’ve put a lot of time into these tunes and are incredibly anxious to start playing them.  LUCKILY, we get to do just that, starting in april.  we have shows in IOWA, KENTUCKY, FLORIDA, MISSOURI and CALIFORNIA (check our page for details).  be patient with us for just a little bit longer so we can make this record worth your wait.  we’ll be knocking over guitars and drinks onstage before you even know it.

until soon,

-a

I can’t wait to hear what the band is serving up. Hopefully it will be as good as Can’t Love, Can’t Hurt.

For those of you who don’t know who Augustana is, check out my favorite song by them called “Twenty Years” by Clicking Here. Also, make sure to check out the dates for the shows they have coming up in April below.
